These Terms govern your use of the SimSim website and mobile app ("Service").
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
You confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old
- You have authority to agree to these Terms
- If using for a business, you can bind that business
2. Beta and Development Status
SimSim is under active and ongoing development. Features and specifications may change, be removed, or be modified at any time without prior notice.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties relating to availability, continuity, data retention, or feature stability.

3. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including the app, designs, logos, text, software, and source code, are the exclusive property of SimSim App LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property and copyright laws.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or rent any part of the Service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the app's source code
- Create derivative works
4. Subscription and Billing
SimSim offers Free and Pro plans.
- Payments are handled via:
- Apple App Store
- Google Play
- Subscription status is managed via RevenueCat
- Subscriptions automatically renew for each billing period unless you cancel them through your applicable app-store settings before the renewal date
- Pricing may change with notice
Apple and Google process payments through their stores. SimSim does not receive or store your debit-card, credit-card, bank-account, Apple, Google, App Store, or Google Play password information. RevenueCat may process subscription status and receipt-validation information. Purchases, billing, cancellations, and refunds are also subject to the applicable store's terms and policies.
5. Refund Policy
All refund requests are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play under their respective policies. SimSim App LLC cannot directly process or issue refunds.
6. Account and Data

- We may delete data associated with inactive or cancelled accounts after 30 days
- You are responsible for exporting your data
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups and exports of your inventory and account data, and for keeping your account credentials and devices secure.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and NOT to:
- Use the Service unlawfully
- Attempt unauthorized access
- Reverse engineer the app
- Scrape, crawl, mine, or otherwise extract data or content automatically
- Resell, license, or commercially exploit access to the Service for third parties without prior written permission
SimSim App LLC may immediately suspend or terminate any account that violates these rules, without notice.
8. Service Availability
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Scheduled or unscheduled downtime may occur for maintenance, updates, or technical issues beyond our control. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses or damages resulting from downtime or unavailability.
9. Expiry Alerts Disclaimer (VERY IMPORTANT)
SimSim provides notifications as a convenience tool.
We do not guarantee:
- All alerts will be delivered
- Alerts will be timely or accurate
Users are responsible for verifying expiry dates independently.
The Service is a convenience tool, not a food-safety, regulatory-compliance, quality-assurance, recall-management, or emergency system. You must maintain independent physical inventory checks and review the condition, label, lot, and printed date of each product before making a sale, distribution, donation, disposal, or other decision.
You are solely responsible for complying with all laws, regulations, permits, labeling rules, food-safety requirements, and industry standards that apply to your products, business, employees, and locations. Do not sell, serve, distribute, or otherwise use a product that is expired, unsafe, recalled, mislabeled, or prohibited by applicable law.
Alerts and reminders can be delayed, missed, duplicated, or unavailable because of device settings, operating-system behavior, connectivity, power, third-party services, user configuration, software defects, or other factors. A missed, late, or inaccurate alert does not remove your responsibility to inspect and manage inventory.
Product Data and Third-Party Databases
To recognize scanned barcodes, SimSim retrieves product information (such as names, brands, and images) from third-party and community databases — including the Open Food Facts API — and from a shared SimSim database that includes user-contributed entries.
This data is provided "as is" for convenience only. We do not guarantee that product names, details, or images are accurate, complete, or up to date, or that a barcode result matches the physical product in your hand.
Always verify the product and its printed expiry date before adding it to your inventory or making any decision based on it. SimSim App LLC is not responsible for losses resulting from inaccurate or mismatched product data.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
SimSim App LLC and its directors, officers, employees, agents, and service providers are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses or damages, including:
- Product, inventory, stock, spoilage, recall, donation, or disposal losses
- Lost profits, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill, or business interruption
- Fines, penalties, regulatory action, legal claims, or costs arising from your product handling, inventory practices, or failure to comply with applicable law
- Lost, delayed, duplicated, inaccurate, or undelivered alerts, notifications, barcode results, or third-party product data
- Loss, corruption, or unavailability of data, or indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SimSim App LLC's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to SimSim for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability, or (b) US $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SimSim App LLC and its officers, employees, and service providers from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your products, inventory, data, use of the Service, or violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Termination
At our sole discretion, SimSim App LLC may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service at any time and for any reason, including a violation of these Terms or abusive, inappropriate, or unlawful use of the Service.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise, the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service.
Class-action and jury-trial waiver: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you and SimSim App LLC agree that disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, not as a class, collective, representative, or private-attorney-general action. You and SimSim App LLC also waive any right to a trial by jury. This paragraph does not waive rights that cannot legally be waived.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. For material changes, we may notify you through the Service, by email, or by posting the updated Terms on this website. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
